Mr Algorta describes the Andes air crash in 1972 that changed his life and how the survivors’ resilience saw them through extreme times. He felt the key thing was mentally planning to survive each 24 hours at a time. The other vital factor was how they worked as a team with the common goal of survival of the group. He talks about why The Andes survivors went to support the Chilean miners, to bring hope and understanding to the miners, their families and the psychologists supporting the miners.
